People Who Need People

In the issue of People magazine that hit newstands yesterday (with a weirdly animatronic Jessica Simpson on the cover), Panda received the "Editor's Choice" star, and I realized that I have not received such a star since taking lessons with my old piano teacher Nicola. While the one in People is not shiny, I have decided it is better. The thing am I still most surprised over, though, is that the magazine preferred my "I'm a squinty, step-seated writer" photo, courtesy of Geoff, over my original submission, which I think has a certain panache.

Not that I'm knocking your excellent photography skills, Litwack, but I think there's a certain intimacy in being able to look up one's nose, and I'm all about intimacy.

In other People news, they report on the Cruz-Cruise split, but can merely make vague guesses about why the demise of the relationship came. And I have the answer. There can only be one super couple in the world where the male half is repeatedly mistaken for being gay. We're back together, and we usurped the spot.
