Uncanny, Andrea, but also a beautiful reflection on our inability of getting a grasp on the concept of the "time & space continuum".

Some of my own thoughts, regarding childhood bliss vs adult hardships:

Autumn

like I was taken care of

I more and more now take care of them
those who - yet - are closest

where they warmed themselves
with my still hesitant rays of spring

I keep adding layers
despite their colourful tapestry
of gratitude

this is amazing and very sweet of you to share xo

Hey, sorry about your dad, mine just died a year ago November, so it's still pretty raw to me too. All I can think about is my own mortality and death now.
Your dad looks like a much nicer guy than mine.

>>When I look at any picture of my dad, all I see is my dad, and then my thoughts immediately go off into how strange it is that he isn't calling me five times a day anymore and how surreal it is to see an image of him and have some part of me fail to understand he's not still alive.<<

I can't even think of a good response to this.... It's so raw and so true. Cancer absolutely fucking sucks. (That's the best I can do on a Monday morning. Plain, but true. Ugh. I'm sorry for what you went through. And I appreciate you sharing. It genuinely does help those of us who can't make sense of cancer at all.)

I think its interesting to think how where he is now is right there. I got chills a couple of times while reading your post, it isn't strange or creepy, its just a surreal feeling, difficult to put down in words.

Loved the post.
